Viewing the evolution of his artistic practice as an open-ended process, one that exists beyond the constraints of commercial expectations, has always been Marc Grünhäuser’s modus operandi.

In 2024, the songwriter and producer introduced TAGIOG, the debut single from his new project Quicche, marking the beginning of a new creative chapter. Released on the legendary R&S Records—the iconic label that helped shape the careers of electronic music pioneers such as The Future Sound of London, Aphex Twin, and Ken Ishii—Grünhäuser reconnects with his electronic roots. While his earlier work drew heavily from indie rock, Quicche is instead inspired by the intricate, forward-thinking productions of artists like James Blake and Burial.

On his debut album Frisia (2025), gentle breakbeats, immersive ambient textures, and ethereal vocals come together to create a soundscape that feels both dreamlike and futuristic—an atmosphere perfectly attuned to our turbulent times.

With his single Tongue, which also serves as the title track of the award-winning short film Skin on Skin, Quicche expands his sonic palette even further, cementing his place as one of the most exciting new voices in Germany’s indie music scene.
